Munich (bbv) – Like in 2004, the famous “Oktoberfest” in Munich shares it’s fairground with the Bavarian Central Agricultural festival (ZLF).The Oktoberfest being based on the farmer’s festival. In combination with the greatest folk festival of the world, the ZLF from 20 through 28 September will be a highlight.
The exhibition’s theme is „Agriculture Fraught with Energy and Vitality“. It is being organized by the Bavarian Farmers Association and offers it’s visitors a colourful programme.
„Farmers like me want to build bridges and talk about promising themes with consumers. The ZLF is a great platform for this”, declared Bavarian Farmers Association president, Gerd Sonnleitner.
On a total area of round about 120.000 m², visitors can view performances and exhibitions about agriculture, forestry and nutritional science. Other highlights are special shows, ongoing discussions, lotteries and the newest agricultural machines for home, farm and hobbies. The ZLF visitors can also look forward to Bavarian hospitality and delicious titbits.
A highlight for children and adults will be the animal show. In an animal tent and in an arena for animal presentation, called “Großer Ring”, stockbreeders show their cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats and poultry. Every day, Bavarian horse breeders present animal shows and equestrian sport in the “Großer Ring”. The open-air area focuses on renewable energy. Visitors can get information about opportunities and application possibilities for biomass, biogas and solar energy.
From the open-air area visitors need to cross a bridge to reach hall 9. The main theme here is the quality of regional food. Along the lines of „Our food has a greater value” current strict standards for the entire food production process are explained, from farmers all the way to retailers.
